天輪襯塊主要是防止天輪與鋼絲繩直接接觸時(shí)產(chǎn)生的摩擦，因此對(duì)保護(hù)鋼絲繩起著非常重要的作用。鋼絲繩在運(yùn)行時(shí)會(huì)產(chǎn)生自轉(zhuǎn)，如果摩擦系數(shù)過高，會(huì)妨礙鋼絲繩的旋轉(zhuǎn)，損傷鋼絲繩和。對(duì)于這種情況，鋼絲繩必須以盡可能小的阻力導(dǎo)入豎井，以減小扭矩和旋轉(zhuǎn)應(yīng)力。
